2010年頃からライフワークとして制作してきたペーパーコラージュの新作展を高崎レベルブックスにて開催します。

2022年9月に行った展示 ”Napper’s Delight”（monsoon donuts / 前橋）での出品作品に、さらに新作を追加しての展示になります。今回の展示では、制作初期からの色紙を使ったグラフィカルなアプローチに加え、雑誌の切り抜きなどを素材とした、よりテクスチャー感のあるフォトコラージュ的な作品も並びます。

タイトルの”Blurred and Distorted”（ぼやけて歪んだ）には、2020年に発症したバセドウ眼症によって、物が二重に見えたり、焦点が合わないという日常の体験が反映されています。

以前にも増して「見る」という行為や「見る／見られる」ことによって刺激される感覚・現象について日々考えながら制作した作品を通して、見る人それぞれの想像力が刺激されることを期待しています。

Ashika Zuan Paper Collage Exhibition

“Blurred and Distorted”

Ashika Zuan’s new paper collage exhibition will be held at Rebel Books @rebelbooksjp in Takasaki from December 9 (Fri.) to 30 (Fri.), 2022.

I have been creating collages as my lifework since arond 2010. In addition to my earlier graphical approach using colored papers, the exhibition will also include more textured photo collage-like works using clippings from magazines and other materials.

The title “Blurred and Distorted” reflects my daily experience of double vision and lack of focus caused by Graves’ ophthalmopathy, which I developed in 2020.

I hope that your imagination will be stimulated through these works, which I created while thinking about the act of “seeing” and the sensations stimulated by the act of “seeing / being seen” more than ever before.
